Depart from Picton out to the stunning Motuara bird Island. Immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, native birdlife and stunning views for approximately 1 hour.
On arrival at this magnificent island, you will hear a chorus of songs from the local inhabitants. Sit and enjoy the bird viewing station approx 5-minute walk from jetty before following the moderate gradient track approx 800m one way around the hill with several lookout points along the way before reaching the highest point of the island (128m) there awaits fantastic views across to Ship Cove. There is a spectacular view to the North Island from the Cook Straight Lookout. Lift the lid on one of many wooden nestling boxes along the track and a sleepy Little Blue Penguin (or even a Kiwi) may just glance up to see who is watching over him.
Motuara Bird Sanctuary Island attracts bird lovers from all over the world. All introduced pests were removed in the early 1990's and the island is now home to a variety of native species having struggled to survive or died out on the mainland. Many of these are critically endangered and this Island provides them with a secure future.
Some of the wildlife you will see includes, Saddleback (tieke), NZ Robin (toutouwai), Bellbird (korimako), Tui, Grey Warbler (riroriro), NZ Pigeon (kereru), Silver Eye (tauhou), Fantail (piwakawaka), the endangered South Island Saddleback, the very rare King Shag, Maud Island Frog and the Marlborough Green Gecko.

This / Browns Island kayak tour is the perfect trip for anyone who wants an exciting and informative day on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbor.
Once called Browns Island and known by its original name of Motukorea (island of the pied oyster catcher bird), is one of the best-preserved volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field. Private boats and sea kayaks are the only means of access to this untouched island.
Motukorea / Browns Island has a fascinating history. It was heavily cultivated by local Maori pre-European arrival and was the first home of Sir Logan Campbell (mayor of Auckland) and William Brown (1st Auckland member of parliament). These men are considered the founders of Auckland city.
On arriving at Motukorea, you'll trek to the summit, taking in the panoramic views along the way and learning about the island’s history. There are three ancient pa sites (Maori fortified village) on the island. The largest occupying the slopes of the main scoria cone.

This is one of our favourite days out in the Queenstown area, and made all the more enjoyable with the inclusion of an upgrade to an E-Bike!
From the Queenstown base (9 Duke Street), head out on a scenic 25 minute drive to Arrowtown. Be fitted to your E-bike, given trail tips, a map and safety briefing, before departing on your independent adventure ride.
Explore Arrowtown and grab a coffee before setting off to ride along the Arrow River Bridges Trail toward Morven Ferry Intersection. From here follow the Twin Rivers Trail, along the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers, to the shores of Lake Whakatipu, and onward to Queenstown where you can return your E-bike.
All of this is mountain bike ride is on Grade 1-2 (easy gravel) trail as in the images, though recommended for experienced riders.

On the ride over, one of the crew will have a chat with you about your experience level and how they can tailor the day to suit you. The snorkeling at the Knights is simply fantastic and don’t feel like you will see less than the divers, because, oh my goodness, that is simply not true!
The life in the top 5 meter's is probably the most prolific, and the light makes it the most colorful area. The kayaks are yours to use for the day, and the bottom is often seen from the surface.
The crew will anchor up and serve lunch and stay in one spot for about two and a half hours. Here you can bomb off the boat, try kayaking and SUP, go snorkeling, have lunch, grab a hot shower, jump back in the crystal waters, and eat some more!! The time is yours, the crew are there to help you enjoy the time in this magical place.
Worried about the water? Can't swim as well as you would like? There are life jackets, reef boards, noodles, and flotation devices - as well as a camera that screens the fish action from below. You don't have to get wet to see the fish! There is an onboard photographer, so jump in front of the lens if you want to capture some memories. The photos are yours for free.
At about 2.30pm, you up anchor, and start a tour of the Islands, including the World’s largest sea cave, huge arches, and majestic cliffs. The knowledgeable and passionate crew will tell you stories and educate you about the Islands as we travel. There is a tragic Maori history that unfolds around you, the dramatic cliffs and breath-taking scenery lend itself to the tale, and the birdlife is unique to the Island. The Hapuku Kitchen Seasonal Feast is an ever-changing half day experience, focused on uncomplicated and utterly delicious dishes made from ingredients sourced from the gardens and local producers.
The day begins with an introduction to the kitchen and the menu for the day. This is discussed over a cup of locally roasted coffee or a refreshing drink made from herbs and flowers from the garden. You’ll then embark on a wander around the Hapuku Kitchen property, foraging in the garden for fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Once you have completed the harvest, return to the kitchen and as a group, prepare the various dishes that make up the menu. With help always at hand, you will learn many techniques and tricks on the creation of the dishes of the day.
To finish the day, simply relax and enjoy the feast accompanied with wine or beer from some of Fiona’s favourite Canterbury and Marlborough winemakers and brewers. Delicious home-made non-alcoholic beverages are also available, such as sparkling elderflower and cucumber.

Experience the beautiful Coromandel Coastal Walkway, an old bridle path once used by early Maori and European Settlers to link east with west at the tip of the remote Northern Coromandel Peninsula.
Check In 8.20 a.m. Meet at Hike & Bike Coromandel, 105 Wharf Road, Coromandel Town, where complimentary, off-street parking is available. Local Accommodation pickups are available by prior arrangement.
Depart 8.30 a.m. We strike out through the historic town of Coromandel with its heritage buildings and gold mining stories from days gone by. We’ll point out the iconic Kauri Tree, once decimated by early Settlers for timber, to now being re-established by teams of enthusiastic locals. A little further north we pass through sleepy, coastal villages with views across the island studded Hauraki Gulf. Admire the large scale Hereford Beef Studs and the contrasting Tibetan Retreat, Mahamudra with its Stupa, glinting proudly in the morning sun.
Approx 9.05 a.m: We pause in the laidback town of Colville with its art galleries, a co-operative style general store and Hereford N a Pickle Café, famous for its home grown meats, pickles and burgers. As the road travels inland we catch glimpses of Mount Moehau with its regenerating forests, home to New Zealand’s Brown Kiwi. We recall the efforts of local volunteers to rid the area of pests to ensure the repopulation and future of this shy bird. There is the chance of a tea break at Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat, located at the base of a bushclad valley just on the outskirts of Port Charles (seasonal hours apply/own cost).
Approx 10.30 a.m. The Walkway starts with a gradual climb from Stony Bay, as it threads its way through regenerating native bush complete with birdsong, mountain streams and rockpools. Photo opportunities abound along the way with panoramic sea vistas from Sugarloaf, over the Colville Channel to Great Barrier Island and beyond.
Enjoy lunch at the Lookout with its impressive panoramic views or rest on the heritage seat further on and soak up the blissful peace. The Walkway concludes with a leisurely downhill section through an impressive beef and sheep farm on the way to Fletcher Bay. Keen walkers are most welcome to tackle the 3km Muriwai Walk, a stunning hike along the cliff tops and out along the spreading sands of Port Jackson beach. Approx 4.30 p.m. Rejoin the minibus as it continues along the pohutukawa lined coast beside the Hauraki Gulf, playground for fishermen, adventure seekers and holidaymakers. This is a fully guided tour with a maximum of 10 people in your tour so the experience is small and intimate.

River Valley Stables operates at some of the highest elevations of any trekking operation in New Zealand; consequently, weather conditions can change quickly. This can alter our choice of trails used on any given day.
If the weather is looking okay, then the ride will be to the top of Pukeokahu (1000 metres above sea level), what we call a hill, but many would call a mountain. Many of the trails are steep; however, the views from the top are incredible – you will just have to take our word for it and check them out yourself!
The top of Pukeokahu is an excellent place for your lunch stop on a lovely summers day.
Group size will be small, and you will need to be a competent rider. River Valley Stables guides will take special care to match you with a horse that you will enjoy. Discover Stewart Island from the water on a leisurely cruise of beautiful Paterson Inlet and a guided walk in Ulva Island Wildlife Sanctuary.
The cruise will showcase some of Paterson Inlet’s stunning scenery with its hidden coves and unspoilt beaches. You’ll hear fascinating stories of early Maori history and European settlement from your guide as we pass various landmarks. Your guide is passionate about this area, provides informative commentary and is more than happy to answer questions. While on board, keep a look out for fur seals and penguins – we see a lot of them around this area.
Paterson Inlet is home to renowned wildlife sanctuary Ulva Island and you’ll stop there for a 45 minute guided walk. The island is home to weka (native woodhen), bush robins, rare saddlebacks and yellowheads amongst other species. It is also a protected habitat for some of New Zealand’s rarest plant species. A regular highlight is to encounter an inquisitive weka on the beach.
For the remainder of the cruise around Paterson Inlet, relax on board our modern catamaran and enjoy the coastal scenery before heading back to base.
Ulva Island/Te Wharawhara
The island sanctuary is located within Paterson Inlet (Whaka a Te Wera) and offers the opportunity to view rarer native species including weka, kākā, kākāriki, tūī, bellbirds (korimako), pigeons (kereru), fantails (piwakawaka), tomtit (miromiro) and brown creeper (pīpipi).
The saddleback (tieke), yellowhead (mohua), Stewart Island robin (toutouwai) and rifleman (titipounamu) have all been successfully reintroduced to Ulva Island. Some lucky visitors to the sanctuary have also seen the Stewart Island brown kiwi (tokoeka) during the day.
Ulva Island is part of the Rakiura National Park and covers an approximate 269 hectares which are mostly managed by the Department of Conservation.
The island, which has no permanent human population, is supported by the Ulva Island Charitable Trust, a group of Stewart Islanders, who raise funds for research, maintain the tracks and infrastructure, and help with bird releases.

At dusk depart from Stewart Island's Halfmoon Bay in a catamaran for a cruise across Paterson Inlet to Little Glory Cove. During the cruise pass Ulva Island (a predator-free sanctuary) and learn about Stewart Island's rich history. Once at Little Glory Cove, disembark onto a wharf at the southern part of the peninsula known as The Neck.
The walk, led by your nature guide, is on a well-formed track across the peninsula, through spectacular coastal forest to a secluded sandy beach.
As dusk sets in and daylight diminishes, venture by torchlight through the native forest with the stars and forest night sounds around you. The walk will take about 45 minutes one-way and the track emerges on to Ocean Beach. This wide sandy beach is where kiwi are often found feeding among the grasses and seaweed.
Here in the darkness you will get to see the Southern brown kiwi (Rakiura Tokoeka) - often searching for food.
Afterwards retrace your steps through the forest to Little Glory Wharf for your catamaran ride back to Oban township on Stewart Island.

About Rakiura Tokoeka/Southern Brown Kiwi
The Rakiura Tokoeka is found on Stewart Island. They stand approximately 40cm tall, weigh 4kg and their beak is 18-20cm long. Stewart Island tokoeka are stocky round birds and one of the largest variants of the Southern brown kiwi, with females reaching weights of over 4kg. Tokoeka means "weka with a walking stick" which references their long beak.

A reasonable level of fitness is required (total walking time approximately 2 hours depending on kiwi behaviour). The walking track can be uneven and muddy at times, therefore please ensure you wear adequate footwear and are dressed for warmth including a wind and waterproof jacket. On occasions we may need to cancel a trip due to weather - please ensure that you provide contact information, so that we can keep you updated.
This experience aims to discover wild kiwis in their natural habitat. While you have a higher chance of finding them with our expert staff, wild animals are unpredictable, and there is no 100% guarantee kiwis will appear. Te Mata Estate and Akarangi are very close by so you can start your wine tasting early! From here you enjoy a 16km cycle on the limestone cycle trail following the Tuki Tuki River, to the coastal communities of Haumoana and Te Awanga. The views are stunning as you cycle the raised stop-bank trail and look out over orchards, vineyards and farmlands. Reaching the coast you'll be ready to taste some more fine wine at Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate and Te Awanga Estate.

This full day winery biking trip begins with a scenic shuttle transfer from Queenstown to the quaint gold mining village of Arrowtown. Here, cover bike fitting, navigation, bike safety and very importantly; winery information. The Kaituna River has long been the home of thrill seekers looking for a whitewater adrenaline rush.
After meeting your guide, getting ready in wetsuits and life jackets you are off for an adventure down the beautiful Kaituna river gorge, with 3 rushing waterfalls, 14 rapids rapids and beautiful streches of gorge enclosed flatwater, this is a world class rafting adventure. Its reputed to have the worlds highest commercially rated water fall - the Tutea Falls at a full 7 metre drop. Time on the river is about 1.5 hours but allow 3 hours from check in, preparation and transfers to the river.

Feel the need for speed as you jump into the driver’s seat for an exhilarating Raceline Karting experience. Concentration, skills and a big dose of brave, make the most of the world-class karting track and give it all you’ve got. 1.2 km long with 11 corners, 6 hairpin turns 150 metre straight and speeds up to 100km/h this will thrill you.
Test your limits in a safe and controlled environment, at Rotorua’s International Kartsport Raceway high up on the Mamaku Plateau, with top of the line Sodi 390cc 4 stroke karts imported from France. Off Road NZ is the only place in the country where you can race these incredible, state of the art machines on the same track as the professional racers.
Geared up and ready to roll, experience the rush of G-Force as you take on hairpin corners and flowing curves with speeds reaching close to 100 km/hour on the 150-metre straight. Go for a personal best or race each other to beat the clock and cross that finish line.
This experience is the Arrive and Drive Package which gives you 10 minutes of racing time on the track each.

Self Drive 4x4
The ultimate 4WD adventure that lets you take the wheel. Buckle up and take on an off-road adventure deep into native New Zealand forest. Back in the early 1900s the area Off Road NZ is set on, was used by logging pioneers who logged our native timbers until it was banned in the 1970s. The tracks that the pioneers used back then are the same tracks that you will be diving on, on this adventure. Rugged and remote, the trail is full of unknowns with plenty of thrills along the way.
With instruction from a professional guide, you can tackle terrain made for 4WD adventures. Tight, twisting bends, deep muddy holes, a seven metre-high luge, steep climbs and thrilling descents – this is uncharted territory with challenges that come thick and fast. This activity lasts approximately 1 hour.

The Raceline Karting is addictive - you want to do more, the 4WD is a great challenge as it relies on you to make the move and drive the vehicle and the rafting is shear excitement and joy and very high heart beats. The Waiora River, which flows out of the Kaimai Ranges into the Bay of Plenty, is a whitewater mecca. In the 1970's the river was earmarked for hydro electricity and the river was dammed. But due to the intense opposition by the Kaimai Canoe Club a compromise was arrived and the dam would release water 26 days a year to bring the river back to it's white water mecca status. So, on 26 Sundays a year this occurs and the rafting is nothing short of grade 5 epic-ness.
This is one of the most technical commercial rafting trips in the country so is not recommended for non swimmers and is graded grade 5.
This fantastic rafting adventure offers a stunning rock and tree lined gorge that combines turbulent rapids with exciting drops to produce top whitewater action. There's no better way to experience New Zealand rivers than this epic rafting adventure.

1. STRAIGHT TRACK: Superman dive into the ZORB on your own or have one, two or three people in there together as you slip, slide and laugh your way down the 250m long slope. Riders have the option of racing their friends and family down the dual tracks.
2. SIDEWINDER TRACK: 350m of the twistiest track ever constructed and is the longest in the world. Slide in 40 litres of water (cool in summer, warm in winter) getting speed up on the straights before riding up the sides of the 6 massive corners.
3. MEGA TRACK: The fastest, longest and steepest downhill ball rolling track in the WORLD! Perched high up on the edge of the ultimate drop, feel the earth disappear beneath you as you plummet down 350m of the craziest track invented.
