Discover the flavours of Waiheke Island on a shared group vineyard tour. Be picked up from the Matiatia ferry terminal on Waiheke Island, just a short 40-minute sailing from downtown Auckland, and travel through the scenic beauty of the Waiheke vineyards. Relax in a modern vehicle as your guide shares insight into the island’s history and world-famous wines. Your wine-tasting itinerary:

• 10am – Depart Auckland on Fullers sailing to Waiheke Island (FERRY TICKETS ARE NOT INCLUDED).
• 10.40am – Your tour guide will meet you on arrival with a signboard as you disembark on Waiheke Island (Matiatia Wharf).
• 11am – Visit Cable Bay Vineyards’ cellar door, exploring a variety of Waiheke Island and Marlborough–produced, hand-picked and harvested award-winning wines.
• 12pm – Lunch at Batch Winery, the highest vineyard on Waiheke Island, with spectacular views and north-facing sun-soaked hillsides of vines, including terraces of traditional elegant vines. Please choose from the Al La Carte menu, lunch is at your own cost, and delicious!
• 2pm – Wine Tasting at Stonyridge Vineyards, nestled in a shimmering valley of olive trees, colourful vines, and the aromas of the south of France.

Enjoy a 90 minute guided tour of "Unleashed", chock-full of eye-popping practical effects from three original films and exploring Weta Workshops Creative Process. Brimming with creative inspiration, learn the art of crafting convincing wounds by sculpting your own scars and scrapes! Perhaps your battle wound was inflicted by one of the Unleashed creatures? No creative experience is necessary for this workshop. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm!

What To Expect

Embark on a journey of discovery on Waiheke Island, just 35 minutes from downtown Auckland, with the 3-hour EcoZip Adventure. After being picked up at the ferry terminal you'll enjoy a fully commentated ‘Waiheke Highlights’ tour showcasing what Lonely Planet named ‘the playground of the gods’.

Once you arrive at EcoZip HQ, which is located high on a hill with spectacular sea views to Auckland City, you’ll take to the skies on their unique giant ziplines. With dual cables each over 200m long, fly side-by-side with a friend in an unforgettable shared experience. Across three separate lines, you’ll zip high above a working vineyard and lush, ancient forest canopies, soaking up incredible views back to the city and beyond.

Descending from the final landing deck, you’ll exchange your birds-eye forest view for the cool, sun-dappled forest floor – home to geckos and skinks, weta, eels and even glow-worms. The ancient trees are a treasure-trove of stories and legend. After 10 years of development, Anthony & Sandra Grant opened Sculptureum Galleries & Gardens and Rothko Restaurant on their 25-acre property at Matakana in April 2017. Many more years have been spent collecting a vast array of artwork from around the world to display.

Begin your Sculptureum Experience in the Garden of Creative Diversity which has 1.4km of paths leading through the Classical and Reflective gardens. Then move into the galleries and wind your way through the first five art galleries, all of which follow a different theme.

You'll then discover the two rear gardens which will delight, with their interesting mix of sculpture, artwork and stunning palm trees. Finish off with the sixth gallery which contains the stunning glass chandelier by American artist, Dale Chihuly.

On a sun-soaked hill overlooking the Sculptureum is a 14-acre vineyard from which is produced a range of premium Matakana wines. Here, you will sample four wines produced under the Art and Garden Series range and learn the flavours and characteristics of current vintages.

This  / Browns Island kayak tour is the perfect trip for anyone who wants an exciting and informative day on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbor.

Once called Browns Island and known by its original name of Motukorea (island of the pied oyster catcher bird), is one of the best-preserved volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field. Private boats and sea kayaks are the only means of access to this untouched island.

Motukorea / Browns Island has a fascinating history. It was heavily cultivated by local Maori pre-European arrival and was the first home of Sir Logan Campbell (mayor of Auckland) and William Brown (1st Auckland member of parliament). These men are considered the founders of Auckland city.

On arriving at Motukorea, you'll trek to the summit, taking in the panoramic views along the way and learning about the island’s history. There are three ancient pa sites (Maori fortified village) on the island. The largest occupying the slopes of the main scoria cone.

Light refreshments are provided on the island before we head back into the Auckland skyline.

Tour consists of approx 1 hour each way of sea kayaking with informative stops and interpretation along the way.

Glide around the beautiful waterfront of  Devonport, Auckland’s historic seaside village, until you reach Cheltenham Beach.  From there you’ll have a superb view of Rangitoto Island, our youngest volcanic cone,  rising majestically out of the sea.

You’ll also have a chance to put the Segway through its paces in a local park. Race your friends and family, set up a fun course or just spend more time exploring the area. On our way back, you’ll glide uphill and down dale through the back streets as you admire the charming Victorian villas and make your way back to Devonport Wharf.
