Diving the Poor Knights Marine Reserve is a truly special experience. Sitting 23 KMs off the coast of Tutukaka in Northland, these islands are a total Marine Reserve, a pending world heritage site and an internationally renowned icon in the diving world.
The Poor Knights are the best diving in NZ. The Poor Knights have been rated by Jacques Cousteau as in the top ten sites in the world. They are a complete marine reserve with literally thousands of fish, and hundreds of species. They are famous for their biodiversity.
The Islands are massive and have volcanic origins, which result in steep cliffs, arches, caves and swim-throughs both above and below the surface. The flora and fauna is totally unique and different to mainland NZ. They are the islands that time forgot. Middle Earth in the Middle of the Ocean.
