This full day winery biking trip begins with a scenic shuttle transfer from Queenstown to the quaint gold mining village of Arrowtown. Here, cover bike fitting, navigation, bike safety and very importantly; winery information. Choose to enjoy one of the many great cafes and explore Arrowtown or get straight into your scenic morning ride along the beautiful Arrow and Kawarau Rivers to the Kawarau Suspension Bridge – home of the world famous Bungy jump.
Spend the afternoon biking at your leisure along the Gibbston River Trail using an informative winery map to visit as many of the 8+ wineries linked throughout this easy riding trail. Enjoy a relaxed lunch en-route or picnic at one of the many Wineries.
You’ll then be picked up at 4:30pm (4:00pm 1 May – 31 August) from Gibbston Tavern or your winery of choice for your relaxing vehicle transfer back to Queenstown.
The riding distance to the first winery is 15km. To get all the way to the end of the wine valley you’ll end up covering about 25km. This is easy work on an E-Bike!
Why if this Chuffed Worthy?
We are stoked that Around the Basin Tours was keen to be a partner of Chuffed. They have been providing outstanding service and tours to riders on the Queenstown Trail since it opened in 2012, they’re heavily involved in community clubs promoting a healthy outdoors lifestyle and all round good folk! When some of the Chuffed Team rode part of the Queenstown Trail it was obvious we needed to introduce our customers to this beautiful cycling experience.
