Jump onboard an eight-seater Gondola cabin and experience spectacular views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal vistas.
The 900-metre long cableway system will transport you and your friends on a gentle, scenic ride up to the Skyline Rotorua complex.
Once at the top, head to Volcanic Hills tasting room where you can relax with a glass of wine, something to eat and soak up the view. The tasting room is set up so you can pop in and experience the wines, as well as take a few bottles home if you like. During the tasting, Volcanic Hills staff won’t try to tell you what’s going on in your brain while you drink wine. They’ll have a chat about the tasting with you, as they understand that everyone’s relationship with wine is different.
Taste all five of the Volcanic Hills range, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Blanc de Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir and a seasonal Rosé. The grapes are sourced from New Zealand’s premium wine-growing regions of Marlborough, Central Otago, and Hawkes Bay, and crafted onsite in the Winery at the base of Skyline Rotorua.
Set amongst the stars atop Mount Ngongotaha, Skyline Rotorua’s Stratosfare Restaurant and Bar is home to some of New Zealand’s best award-winning cuisine.
Enjoy a delicious dinner featuring a stunning array of freshly prepared and cooked-to-order dishes highlighting locally sourced seafood, meat and produce. The contemporary ambience features luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist, timber and David Trubridge lights, while the panoramic view of Lake Rotorua is a sight to behold.
Stratosfare will take you on a gastronomic journey from the tidal mussel tank, ensuring the freshest mussels you can find, to the flame rotisserie, Art of the Grill chef station, 24-hour slow-cooked roast beef, seasonal salads and delicious desserts.
This is a unique and decadent Rotorua dining experience that you’ll want to return to again and again.
